My name is Nana Battah and I’m a senior Public Relations at Kent State University.
I have spent the past couple of years monitoring, and studying the field of cultural diversity. In recent years, I have seen an outburst of books, articles and programs that attempt to explain what it is to be culturally informed and what one must do in order to become culturally diverse and rid of all cultural misconceptions.
I have also heard a few speakers talk about diversity and cultural misapprehension. College was the first time I truly had the opportunity to interact with people from diverse groups. Having had the opportunity to network with students from other cultures and backgrounds helped enhance my social development. My college campus is like opening the door to the entire world without traveling anywhere else.
